Student Travel On A Budget

When it comes to student travel, flexibility and budget are two buzz words that are often mentioned. Many sites offering advice will mention Interail and Student Flights for travel, and STA Travel or the Youth Hostel Association for accommodation booking.  There are also price comparison sites which will search for budget hotels, hostels, and Bed and Breakfast deals across the world.

While these options offer up a great deal of choice, they won’t always provide what a student wants, which is where package holidays come in. Looking for cheap holidays in the traditional, rather than student orientated sense needn’t be expensive, and a package deal can provide destination options that some student sites lack.

Along with seasonal sales, look out for limited time deals, lesser known, but still ABTA bonded travel agents and other offers such as low deposits.  It’s possible to get cheap holidays for under £200 if you do your research, particularly if you fly to certain destinations and are happy with self-catering.  This could mean an apartment in Ibiza, or a budget hotel in Benidorm. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive or full board break, or savings on holiday’s further afield then this will take more research.

Students aren’t always that fussy, but if you want a cheap deal flying from a UK airport on to places like Italy, Monaco, New York, Disneyworld, or Madeira, then it’s always worth spending a little time on price comparison sites so you can stick to your budget.

The same rules apply here, as with any other holiday though. Make sure you check out the best deals on added extras such as Travel Insurance and cheap Heathrow parking, to make sure you really are doing everything possible to achieve ‘student travel on a budget’.
